BAYOU
BARN CAJUN CANOE & KAYAK TOURS offers
a unique and exciting adventure while on the
New Orleans area. In
conjunction with the New
Jean Lafitte Historical National Park,
we offer guided and unguided tours of the
SWAMP and MARSH areas of southern Louisiana.
Within the boundaries of the Jean Lafitte
Historical National Park, you will be able
to paddle the same famous Bayou Des Famillies
(paddled by the Pirate Jean Lafitte).
ALLIGATORS, SNAKES, and thousands of other
CREATURES and WILDLIFE can be viewed
in their own habitat.
Located
on Highway 45 in Lafitte, Bayou Barn has everything
you need to enjoy firsthand the peaceful beauty
of the Barataria Unit of Jean Lafitte National
Historic Park.
Now; Bayou Barn offers you the chance to explore
this unique Southern Louisiana wilderness on
your own, or, on Saturdays and Sundays only,
by personal guided tour (reservations required).
Bayou Barn makes it easy to take a leisurely
trip down the smooth waterways, renting canoes
and kayaks as well as offering shuttle services
to and from the put-ins.

Each
rental includes two life jackets and two 5-foot
paddles. The $25 a day rental includes delivery
to the park, with advance notice. Also available
is a $10 two hour rental to be self launched
from the Crown Point crossing of Highway 45
and the new Lafitte LaRose Highway.
How about getting a group of your friends together
to explore the park's bayous? Special rates
are available for groups of 10 (five boats)
or more, and if you're the one who organizes
the group, your boat is free. Reservations are
required for large group rentals. Senior citizen
discounts (10 percent off) are available on
all day rentals.
Rental hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday
